Debugprobe is the Raspberry Pi firmware that turns a spare Pico or Pico 2 into a debug probe. It speaks CMSIS-DAP over SWD, so OpenOCD, probe-rs and pyOCD can flash and step through code on another Pico, an STM32 or an nRF52, and it adds a USB to UART bridge for the target's serial console. Original project by Raspberry Pi on GitHub, MIT. Chipnik hosts the release binaries unchanged so you can flash them from the browser.
Wire GP2 and GP3 of the probe to SWCLK and SWDIO of the target, plus ground; GP4 and GP5 are the UART. The pinout picture is in the Raspberry Pi documentation for Debug Probe.
Firmware files come from the debugprobe-v2.3.1 release.
