How far this project is checked

  • Files in the catalogConfirmed. Version 16.0.1, builds for 3 board variantsWhat this means
    Checked

Chipnik stores the files of version 16.0.1, published November 6, 2026. The site signs each build, and the flasher compares every file with its checksum before writing it.

Builds: Wemos D1 mini, NodeMCU, v2, CP2102 USB chip, NodeMCU, v3 LoLin, CH340 USB chip.

A moderator reviewed the project before its first publication, November 6, 2026.

Chipnik does not build the devices itself. It is the word of the people who did, with their photos.

WLED drives addressable LED strips such as WS2812B and adds a web page where you pick colors, effects and presets. Home Assistant, Alexa and the WLED phone app can control it over your Wi-Fi. Original project by the WLED team on GitHub, EUPL-1.2. Chipnik hosts the release binaries unchanged so you can flash them from the browser.

On first start the board opens its own Wi-Fi network WLED-AP with the password wled1234. Connect to it, open 4.3.2.1 and enter your home network.

The strip data wire goes to GPIO2, the pin marked D4 on the D1 mini and NodeMCU. Power a long strip from its own 5 V supply and connect the grounds together: the USB port of the board cannot feed it.

Firmware files come from the v16.0.1 release.
